Going Your Own Way 

If you have an internal marketing team, we recommend that you have everyone go through HubSpot Academy trainings and get up to speed as quickly as possible. There is a lot to learn. You will also want to have one person who eats, sleeps, and drinks HubSpot that will be tasked with learning everything there is to learn about HubSpot. This person should also be in charge of training your other team members.

There are some major benefits to working with a Solutions Partner. First, Solutions Partners have access to HubSpot and the team at HubSpot that end users simply don't. We are able to get answers quicker, get access to new products and betas faster, and even get new features implemented quicker (in some cases). Solutions Partners can also work directly with HubSpot on your behalf to get you the best possible terms on your software.

Secondly, HubSpot Solutions Partners are required to maintain education and certifications in order to service clients utilizing the HubSpot platform. While it may not seem like a huge undertaking at the moment, we assure you that the HubSpot platform is so robust that it's easy to not be utilizing the tools to their full potential.

Really the question here is: how long of a learning curve do you want before you're fully up and running? If you're keeping everything internal, the learning curve will be steep and it can take awhile (we're talking weeks or even months) to get up and running effectively. If you're working with a Solutions Partner, you'll be able to learn the tools at your pace while your Partner executes. The ramp-up time is more like days to weeks before you're using the full power of HubSpot.

What's the Difference in the Solutions Partner Tiers?

The current HubSpot Solutions Partner tiers are Partner, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Elite. HubSpot revamped their Solutions Partner program in 2020 and is continually optimizing their partner program to ensure they're best serving their users. While tier level does not always correlate directly to a "better" agency, it does speak to the success that an agency has had with clients using HubSpot. Partner tiering looks at number of accounts managed and sold by the agency, certifications, and longevity of their clients using HubSpot. Typically the higher the level, the more knowledgeable the agency is when it comes to HubSpot.

As we mentioned above, the learning curve to become skilled with HubSpot can be steep. The same is true for agencies. When we started using HubSpot, our CEO told HubSpot that we wanted to be selling HubSpot within a month. It took three. There is just so much to learn that it can't be done over night. When evaluating Solutions Partners, we encourage you to look at Gold-plus partners, as they have already been through the learning curve and you won't have to be along for the ride while the agency learns the tool alongside you.
